Location: Spectacular
hill top location with 360 views across the 21 acres of
private land of Striano in the beautiful Casentino area
of Tuscany, Italy.
Striano is set in the magical triangle of
Florence, Sienna and Arezzo. Florence is a mere 1
hour’s drive
away as is Siena. Arezzo is the nearest biggest City
to Striano which is only a 20 minute drive through the beautiful
countryside of the Casentino Valley.

Nearest
village is Talla (see link) which is a 5 minutes drive from
Striano. Talla has all the amenities one
could wish for with its own butcher, bread shop, pharmacy,
bank, vegetable shop, minimarket, florist, cafe bar and restaurant
called the L'Orcello (which does exceptional food). The main
town is Bibbiena (see link) which is 20 minutes drive away
where you have the IPERCOOP (large indoor market) and outside
market stalls.
Nearest Golf Course only 20 minutes away from
the Villa
Accommodation: classic & sophisticated
Italian Villa perfect for large family groups, superbly positioned. Spacious & airy,
6 lovely bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.
All the rooms are
decorated with an interesting style of Flemish and Japanese
chandeliers and 19th century Italian bedroom furniture. All
beds are made from local handcrafted iron bed frames (Caparelli)
and plush handmade bed coverings. All the bathrooms
have been made with custom made Travertine marble with beautiful
frescos, gold leaf mirrors and windows overlooking the valley. Huge
chestnut beams span the house and are a particular feature
of Striano.
Master Suite: The master suite has wooden floors throughout
and a super king size gold edged iron bed frame. Wonderful
views over the Valley and the garden. Off the master
bedroom is a single room with its own unique matching antique
gold edged bed frame which can be used as a dressing room or
another single bedroom.
In the master ensuite bathroom there
are twin Travertine hand basins, large gilded mirrors and frescos,
a separate Travertine shower cubicle and a large claw foot
bath.
Kitchen: Large
modern kitchen equipped with black marble surfaces, large Travertine
cream double sink, large 90cm Siemens gas hob with extractor,
Gas Oven, natural stone exterior walls and window and large
door through to the kitchen patio and herb garden. On
one wall of the kitchen is a small dining table for those intimate
breakfasts. The kitchen is equipped with designer cookware,
including Alessi pots, toaster, electric kettle, microwave,
dishwasher, small fridge with a separate American fridge freezer
in the larder room.
Dining Room: Large
dining room with original French 19th century dining table
with seating for 10/12 people. The floors are laid in
herringbone terracotta, the walls washed in beautiful pastel
yellow. The
central feature in this room is the Aga (custom made in England
and shipped to Striano) in blue with hot and cool hotplates,
giving natural warmth to the room.
Sitting Rooms: Two
large sunny sitting rooms with huge open fireplaces and 5 seater sofa.
Pool: Striano has
its own private large infinity designed swimming pool with
views down the valley. There
is a lower sunbath pool into which flows water from the upper
pool. The constant movement prevents build up of any
unwelcome insect life. The pool is 12m x 8m with
a 12m x 2m sunbath pool.
Jacuzzi: heated
outdoor Jacuzzi – seats
6 people.
Sauna: for
relaxing -
seats 6 people.
Fountain: For
those outside romantic dinners.
Garden: beautifully
landscaped and designed to the highest quality: with an Italian
themed garden (with a maze of box hedges, statues and pots),
cypress trees, olive trees, vines, pergolas, pretty English
rose garden and loads and loads of grass.
Facilities: Aga, dishwasher, washing machine, American Fridge Freezer,
mircowave, toaster,electric kettle, 6
hob cooker, Gas Oven, Satellite TV, DVD and Video player,
stereo, central heating. Iron and iron board. Full
desginer cultery, glasses and china for 16 people.
Children: Children’s
toys and games & children’s
play area (swings and slide). Books, DVD’s and
Video library. In August 2008 – there will be
a special wendy house for children, swings and slide.
Staff: Maid
service, garden and pool
maintenance services.
Babies: under 2 years babycot and
highchair on request.
Airport: 2 hours
drive from Pisa Airport and 1 hour’s drive from Florence
Airport.
Flights: Direct cheap
flights with EasyJet, RyanAir, Thompsonfly from many airports
in England. Tell me your nearest airport and I can advise
you appropriately.
Train Station: Arezzo
25 minutes away from Striano.
Extra Options: On
request and for a further charge we can provide a chef & waitress,
airport pickups in a chauffeured Land Rover Discovery 3,
hire of our Land Rover, extra maid service, nanny or babysitting
services and any special excursions. Wine tasting
or hire of bikes or motorbikes for off road trekking in the
mountains.
Shopping Trips: On
the outskirts of Villa Striano (roughly 45 min away)
are full of factory outlets such as Prada, Gucci, Armani,
Fendi, D&G,
Celine, Lowe, YSL, Bottega Veneta, Max Mara, Loro Piana,
Miu Miu, Sergio Rossi, etc., where you can get up to 50%
discount on retail price. So if ever fancy a
girls weekend shopping trip over 4 days at Villa Striano
then please call me. Our chauffeur can take you
where you choose and wait for you as long as necessary while
you shop-until-you-drop!
